My carniverous clam series developed as a way to deal with a stressful situation in which I felt as though many people were trying to consume me bit by bit. I found that making these humorous figures of the feelings I had about people and situations made me laugh and thus helped me to defuse my negative feelings. I think of them as a sort of "evil eye" protection from the carnivores. Twisty clam is dangerous. She can twist herself to fit almost any situation. But you can't trust her. She's all contorted posturing. You can see through it, and eventually others will too.
